Empty House is a work based on my recent experience of continuing the construction of my father’s house after he passed away. It is a personal reflection on the relationship of memory, presence and place: a reflection that is carried simultaneously in writing as in weaving.
The thin fabric is made of extremely fine copper and stainless steel wire, searching for a border between material and immaterial while embodying the slow and subjective time of hand weaving.
The piece now occupies the center of the new house. It responds to the sunlight with fleeting patterns of reflections and creates a presence in dialogue with the empty space.
