Hanna-Kaisa Korolainen is a Finnish artist, designer and design researcher. She is currently preparing her doctoral thesis surrounding the notions of inspiration at Aalto University. Korolainen specializes in creating unique artworks, ranging from hand-tufted rugs to ceramics that are situated somewhere between art and design.

“The House of Rain” is a rug project that was inspired by French artist Raoul Dufy and Paris during the 1920’s. Korolainen’s aesthetics are all about nostalgia, whoever, when everything is almost too beautiful, things need to be mixed with something unpredictable like bold pattern designs from 1970’s.
